From a Generated Prototype to a Fun Game

One shotting a game is only the beginning, you still actually have to make the game. Learn the basics of structure a game.

AI can produce content and mechanics, but it does not automatically create a compelling player experience.

What developers should learn

The session should explain:

  • The player promise: what fantasy or experience is the game delivering?
  • The core loop: action → feedback → reward → decision → repeat.
  • The difference between a mechanic and a complete loop.
  • Short-term, session-level and long-term progression.
  • Rewards, difficulty curves, unlocks and player goals.
  • Why adding more generated content does not fix a weak loop.
  • How to cut features that do not strengthen the core experience.
